Withcott Seedlings is a National Tree Day Bushland Sponsor and contributes seedlings to Planet Ark's Seedling Bank.
Since 1983, Withcott has fuelled Australia’s food production sector, producing over 300 million commercial vegetable seedlings annually. Equally vital is their cultivation of millions of native trees across hundreds of species, including Acacias, Eucalyptus, and Casuarinas. Withcott is a grow-to-order nursery, able to supply tree seedlings for large scale carbon sequestration projects, carbon offset plantings, and revegetation projects across Australia.
Withcott’s nursery was designed with sustainability in mind. Their state-of-the-art water recycling infrastructure provides a secure, year-round water supply, while the nursery’s sloped design allows for efficient water runoff collection and recycling.
The isolated and hilly location of the nursery provides a natural protection from external contaminants, maximises sunlight, minimises soil erosion, and preserves native trees. Waste is minimised, like repurposing waste-potting mix to regenerate land where needed.
The site in Postmans Ridge is more than a nursery, becoming a thriving habitat for native species. They implement eco-friendly policies and tools to create a safe and diverse area for local wildlife.
