Ecological Restoration Project
At Inveresk, the UTAS Sustainability team has been leading an Ecological Restoration project that covers over 5,000m2, of which 3,000m2 will be intensively planted and seeded. The aim is to convert a flat lawn into a biodiverse area that mimics six local native plant communities. The project will plant over 3,000 native plants and direct seed over 800m2 with the goal of establishing dense areas of native plants that suppress weeds and provide habitat for insect populations.
